Awesome August Adventures

So…where do I begin?  August was full of new friends, old friends, new places and new culinary experiences.

I finally got all my props and mats for the yoga studio and found a lot of people interested in taking private classes.  Everyone doesn’t like practicing in a room full of people.  Even though I keep my classes small, it can still be a little awkward and uncomfortable.  I get it.  I remember the first day I rolled out my mat in front of seasoned yogis.  Everyone was gracious, but I felt a little out of my league.  But look at me now!  There’s always something new to learn and experience.  Why not start today?

Ok, so I traveled through the south again with friends and we toured a few tiny towns, ate ice cream for lunch, had delightful dinners, and laughed until the wee hours of the morning.  Georgia is rich with history, antique shops and nature’s wonderful backdrop.  So much to see, so much to do.  I found time to fit in some sightseeing, visiting, laughing, napping, and a little shopping too…of course.

Just two weeks later, I found myself in the friendly skies enjoying the view from the window seat, while the others in my row slumbered and missed all the beauty of the painted sky.  Again, I acted just like the tourist I was snapping pictures and being in awe of the magnificence God created.

The Southwest didn’t disappoint, from the delicious cuisine to the majestic mountains, I felt welcomed to enjoy this beautiful place.  And of course, practicing yoga in the cool breeze with the mountains in view was just the icing on the cake.  I will practice everywhere, and being in nature, away from my normal every day routine, getting grounded (literally) creates such an atmosphere of healing and connection.  I only got a few looks when I went into tree pose in the grass by the patio.  I had a great time and hope to go again soon.

I landed after almost two weeks away, got a little more restless and a few days later, headed off to the beach, whew.  No yoga this week just lots of naps.

I’m in awe of how God has allowed me to witness all that is out there and embrace all He has for me. Some days I take things for granted, but then I’m reminded by those mountains, the ocean waves, the ability to stretch and breathe as I practice, and by those incredible people I meet on my journey and do life with every day.  Needless to say, August was full, but I had some awesome adventures!
