Many times we talk about self-care, but have different definitions of what that means. To some it means creating a secure financial plan, or bubble baths and mindfulness, to others, establishing boundaries, and to me most days yoga and meditation.
I want to encourage everyone to define it in a way that works best for them and realize that self-care is not selfish.
In Matthew 11, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest."
This offers a promise of rest and refreshment for those who are overwhelmed - those who are seeking spiritual and emotional rest, and sometimes physical rest. Rest, refreshment, and reflection are important and can be found in Him and in His presence.
I've included a few thoughts on how some people take care of themselves. Feel free to share your own?
